Fall has definitely come to the Eastern Sierra. With a little snowfall on the top of the mountains around the lake and the colors changing in the trees, it is a beautiful time to be up here.
The fish for the most part have moved up north, anywhere from Sandy Point to the Alligator/Layton area and further north.
The fish are still shallow, hanging out near any last existing weed beds. Mostly in the 7 to 15-ft areas.
They are targeting midges. Albinos in the morning and then you may have to switch it up and find out what is working for the rest of the morning for that day.
This year on Crowley has been so much better than the past few years, and looks to be even better in the future with all the stocking that has been done lately. With only a few weeks left in the season, now is a great time to come up and enjoy the beauty while catching trophy trout that Crowley is known for.
