Bait and Spin Report

Welcome to beautiful Crowley Lake!
The spin fishing has been really fun lately. Throwing jigs like hookup baits and mini jigs on light line with the long rods has been a blast.
Fish are still spread out around the lake this time of year, so don’t hesitate to try different spots on your own.
Spots like McGee, Pelican point and even in front of the marina have produced fish.
I’m finding fish in 12-18 feet of water. Some are deeper as well, but fishing the jigs in shallower water has been best.
Bait fishing is also producing fish in those same areas. If you don’t get bit shallow, try a little deeper and have your bait off the bottom 12-16 inches. Pinched crawlers and nightcrawlers are my go too.
2-4 pound flourocarbon leaders on a Carolina rig is best with the water being this clean and clear.

Good luck and tight lines
